Assistive Technology Training
Discover the Right Tools for Your Child's Learning Journey
When a child learns differently, traditional teaching methods don't always tell the whole story of what they can achieve. That's where Assistive Technology (AT) comes in.
AT refers to any tool, app, or piece of equipment designed to help students bypass learning obstacles and work to their true potential. Think of it as a custom set of keys: it unlocks the barriers standing between your child's bright ideas and the page, allowing them to demonstrate exactly what they know and think.
How Assistive Technology Transforms Learning
In our sessions, we pair expert guidance with the right tools to meet your child's unique cognitive profile. Here is how AT can support your child's specific needs at home and in school:
For Dyslexia & Reading Challenges: Text-to-speech software and digital audiobooks allow children to absorb complex information effortlessly, turning reading frustration into a love for stories.
For Dysgraphia & Writing Struggles: Speech-to-text (dictation) tools and specialised keyboards free creative thinkers from the physical struggle of handwriting, allowing their ideas to flow freely.
For ADHD & Executive Dysfunction: Visual timers, interactive checklists, and focus apps help children organise their thoughts, manage their time, and take ownership of their study routines.
For Autism & Sensory Processing: Noise-cancelling headphones, customisable screen overlays, and predictable digital schedules reduce anxiety and create a calm, focused environment for learning.
Our Approach: Every neurodiverse child possesses a unique set of strengths. Our goal is to help you discover and master the specific tech tools that will build your child's independence, boost their confidence, and make learning feel rewarding again.
Qualified AT training for any neurodivergent student. No science tuition required. Our specialist is a qualified AT trainer proficient across an extensive range of tools.
The right tool changes everything
A student who struggles to write by hand may produce excellent work with speech-to-text. The barrier is mechanical, not intellectual.
Works across every subject
AT tools are not subject-specific. Training your child in Immersive Reader or speech-to-text benefits every lesson, every day.
EHCP funded option
If your child has an EHCP naming AT as provision, training may be funded through a Direct Payment.
Single AT Training Session
A focused one-to-one session tailored to your child's specific AT needs. Whether you want to explore a particular tool, get started with a recommended piece of software, or address a specific challenge, each session is shaped entirely around what your child needs that day.
AT Training Block (3 Sessions)
Three sessions booked as a block, giving your child the continuity to build real confidence with their assistive technology tools. Sessions are planned progressively so each one builds on the last. Ideal for students who need time to explore, practise, and consolidate across a range of tools.
A tool for every barrier
Our qualified AT trainer is proficient across an extensive range of tools. Sessions draw on whichever tools are the right fit for your child.
